Homemade deodorant.

J and I have been using this for about a week and it works great. I love putting it on just because it smells so damn good. You have to put quite a bit of essential oil in to cover up the strong smells of cocoa and shea butters. Use the real all natural pure butters, not lotions or creams with those ingredients in them. Whole foods carries these items and they are a bit expensive (about $10 each) but you can get about four batches of the recipe below. Not sure yet how long each batch lasts yet. Either way its worth it to us, we’re very happy with it. Big thanks to Amy Karol of Angry Chicken for the recipe.

Homemade Deodorant

Recipe from Angry Chicken.

Ingredients
1-1/2 Tablespoons shea butter (Whole foods or here)
1-1/2 Tablespoons baking soda
1 Tablespoons corn starch
1 Tablespoons cocoa butter
1 vitamin E oil gel caps (puncture and squeeze out the oil)
Essential Oil (I used lavender because that’s what we had, use what you like), about 20-3- drops
Preparation

Nuke all ingredients except the oils for 30 seconds in microwave. Take out and stir, then add about 20-30 drops of essential oil/oils of choice (smelly stuff) and the vitamin E oil. Stir again then pour into small container. Place in fridge till solid.

To use roll about a pea sized amount into palm of your hand then mush and rub into arm pits. Sweet!
